1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Deal Sheet LLC ("Deal Sheet," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit godealsheet.com or use our business-valuation estimate tool and related services (the "Service"). It also describes your privacy rights and how to exercise them.
This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and part of our Terms of Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here. Please read it together with Section 5 (Marketing and Communications Consent) and Section 6 (Represent or Refer) of the Terms of Service, which describe how we may contact you and share your information.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide.
When you use the valuation tool or otherwise contact us, you provide:
- Business information, for example, your industry, approximate revenue, profitability or margins, number of employees, location, years in operation, and similar details you enter to generate an estimate.
- Contact information, for example, your name, business name, email address, telephone number, and any message you send us.
- Communications, the content of emails, texts, calls, or form messages you exchange with us.
2.2 Information collected automatically.
When you visit the Service, we and our analytics providers may automatically collect basic technical and usage information, such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring/exit pages, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8).
2.3 Sensitive information.
We do not seek to collect government identifiers, financial account numbers, health information, or other sensitive personal information through the valuation tool, and you should not submit them.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Generate and deliver your valuation estimate and respond to your requests;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service, including analytics and troubleshooting;
- Contact you for marketing and deal-related purposes by email, telephone, and text message, consistent with the consent you provide and Section 5 of the Terms of Service;
- Evaluate and pursue potential transaction opportunities, including preparing anonymized business profiles, and matching or introducing you to prospective buyers and to referral partners (which may include selected third-party M&A platforms, advisors, brokers, or marketplaces), as described in Section 6 of the Terms of Service;
- Maintain records of your consent and our communications;
- Comply with law, enforce our Terms, and protect the rights, safety, and property of Deal Sheet, our users, and others.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your information for money. We share information in the following ways:
- With prospective buyers, to explore a possible transaction. Where reasonably practical, business-identifying details are first shared on an anonymized basis, but you should not assume confidentiality is guaranteed (see Terms Section 6.3).
- With referral partners, independent M&A platforms, advisors, brokers, or marketplaces (which may include selected third-party M&A platforms, advisors, brokers, or marketplaces) to whom we may refer you or who may help work your opportunity.
- With service providers / subprocessors, vendors that support the Service on our behalf, such as website and server hosting, analytics, email/SMS/telephony delivery, customer-relationship and outreach tools, and data enrichment.
- For legal and safety reasons, to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; or to protect rights, safety, and property.
- In a business transaction, if Deal Sheet is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy.
We require service providers to use the information only to perform services for us. Prospective buyers and referral partners are independent third parties and handle your information under their own privacy practices.
5. Compensation Disclosure
Deal Sheet may receive fees, commissions, referral payments, or other compensation in connection with transactions it works on or referrals it makes to buyers or partners. This is disclosed more fully in Section 6.4 of the Terms of Service.
